The right outfit is almost as important in a business photo as facial expressions and posture. Here you can find out what works well in pictures, which colors you should choose and which classics you should avoid.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

These outfits always work<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rely on Simple, well-fitting clothing in matt colors<\/strong>Shirt, blouse, knitwear, plain blazer. Natural tones such as navy, gray, anthracite, beige or muted green look professional on almost any background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make sure it fits neatly: no labels sticking out, no creases, no stains. The outfit should match the brand - an IT consultant looks different from a craftsman's business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What you should avoid in photos<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Avoid Small-scale patterns, bright colors and eye-catching logos<\/strong>. Fine stripes or checks can \u201eflicker\u201c in photos (moir\u00e9 effect). White tones that are too bright quickly outshine the face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also consciously dose jewelry and accessories: A discreet pin or an elegant watch is more powerful than five rings and three necklaces. A fresh hairstyle and subtle make-up - you rarely need more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team shoots: style instead of uniform<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For team shots, you should not specify a uniform, but a Communicate style<\/strong>For example, \u201esmart casual, natural tones\u201c. This will give you a uniform look without making it look contrived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Industry & trade:<\/strong> Workwear is authentic and makes a strong impression. Look for clean, intact items. Safety PPE belongs with it, not away from it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IT & Consulting:<\/strong> Shirt without tie or polo look modern. Sneakers with chinos are perfectly acceptable today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hotel & Service:<\/strong> Original uniforms are usually the best choice - they convey brand and trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outfit tips for women<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For women, a classic blouse, a simple knitted top or a blazer<\/strong> in muted colors almost always. If you are unsure: a monochrome top in navy, anthracite, burgundy, camel or sage looks stylish on any background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avoid low-cut tops (with breast portraits, you can suddenly see more skin than intended) and very tight-fitting fabrics (highlight folds and creases). Very shiny materials (satin, lacquer) also reflect studio light unfavorably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep jewelry discreet:<\/strong> A beautiful necklace or discreet earrings are enough. Several large rings, bracelets and statement necklaces distract from the face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make-up:<\/strong> Day-appropriate, a little more definition than usual (eyebrows, a light eye shadow, matt concealer). Glossy lipstick often looks too strong in photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outfit tips for men<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For men Shirt without tie<\/strong> is the right choice in most industries. Polo shirts work in tech and consulting, shirts with jackets in classic B2B sectors, shirts with knitted sweaters for a cooler look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classic colors: White (be careful - can outshine), light blue, light gray, navy blue. Check shirts work, but should not be too small - otherwise the pattern will flicker in photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grooming your beard:<\/strong> Freshly cut or shaved. Stubble between 2 and 5 days old usually looks messy in photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accessories:<\/strong> A simple watch is classic, a very flashy sporty or smart watch looks out of place. Badges or brand pins are okay if they match the brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outfit recommendation for team shots<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For team recordings I recommend a common style instead of a uniform<\/strong>. \u201eSmart casual in natural colors\u201c or \u201eclassic business with light shirts\/blouses\u201c is a specification that gives everyone leeway and still results in a uniform image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What you should avoid: everyone in the same color (looks like a school uniform), wildly mixed colors (looks jarring) or visible logos of different brands (looks unprofessional). A simple, common code - and everyone brings their own personal style to the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Family business<\/strong> it can be nice if the management wears a slightly more formal outfit than the rest of the team. This creates hierarchy without posing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
